Winter World of Beer Tour (Days 27-41)
January 31-February 14
Sunday Jan 31-Sunday Feb 14
The timing couldn’t have worked out more perfectly for our time in Orlando, FL. Curtiss’s aunt lives there and was going to be at a work conference the first two weeks in February, but offered her house to us. This was great timing because we were really wanting to fix some aspects of the tiny house that just weren’t working.
Her husband left us some tools to use and we rented a sander from Home Depot. Of course, like most remodel projects, it took longer than expected. I won’t bore you with details in this journal as all of the details are documented here. However, here is a before and after:
While in Orlando, in addition to working our butts off on the remodel, we visited Wewika Springs State Park. It was a bit cold so we opted not to swim, but the boys loved being in the woods again and exploring new territory. We also became semi-regulars at a nearby dog park and walked his aunts neighborhood over and over and over. In addition, her backyard was fully fenced in so we enjoyed several games of fetch and chase. I think the boys enjoyed their two weeks as much as we did!
Our final week there, Curtiss told me he had a surprise for me. I guessed a concert because he was pretty jazzed about it. We drove into “Disney Springs,” which I had no idea what that was. I figured we couldn’t be doing any of the amusement activities because it was 5:00, so was stumped…until we saw the big white tent that said “Cirque Du Soleil,” and I freaked! Of course pictures and video can’t be taken during the show, but you can enjoy this clip from YouTube!
On our final day we spent a little bit of time with Curtiss’s aunt, thanking her for her wonderful hospitality. By early evening we hit the road and were headed just north of Tampa to Homosassa Springs, FL, where a good friend of ours, Shelby, “snowbirds.”
